Coach Green has been the head coach for 24 years. He is the
most successful track coach in Mentor High history with a record of
177/35/1. During his 24 years he has coached he has coached some outstanding
track athletes. During his career he's won 15 track Championships and 8
district titles. Mr. Green went to OSU and was an All-American pole vaulted
where he held Ohio States indoor and outdoor records. His 16' 8" indoor
record stood for 19 years. He was captain of the track team for 3 years and
the big ten indoor champion twice and big ten record holder for both indoor
and outdoor.Coach Litzinger has been assistant
coach for 24 years. He attended BGSU where he played football, gymnastics,
indoor and outdoor track. He set the BGSU record for hammer and 35 Lbs.
weight throw. His throwers have won 21 league titles, 7 district titles, and
5 regional championships. His throwers have Qualified for the state meet 12
times winning twice and runner-up four times.
Coach Simko is a MHS graduate who still holds the 800
record. He has been an assistant track coach for distance for 19 years. Mr.
Simko's college career at OSU included being team captain, school record
holder, and All-American performer. His runners have won many titles and
Qualified for states many times.
Coach Snee has been teaching since 1979, the past seven
years at Mentor. He is the sprint coach for the track team and has developed
three l.e.l. champions and school record holders in the 100 meters. He is
also assistant football coach at Mentor. Before Mentor he was the head
football coach at Cleveland South for four years and head track coach for
two. He went to Yale University where he played football.
